Certfied Lactation Counseling

  • What is a CLC?

As a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), I have received specialized training in lactation support, including assessing latch and feeding techniques, providing corrective interventions, counseling parents, and understanding milk production, along with other common challenges. I successfully passed a two-part exam and continue to enhance my knowledge through ongoing education. As a CLC, I am dedicated to helping parents achieve their breastfeeding goals, whether that involves exclusive nursing, pumping, or a combination of both. For more complex cases, I refer parents to an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), who possesses advanced expertise and training.

  • Prenatal Consult

Schedule a prenatal consultation and learn the basics of breastfeeding to feel more confident and prepared for the arrival of your baby. I will address any questions or concerns you may have, help debunk any myths you’ve encountered, and provide evidence-based information to ensure you feel secure and informed during your breastfeeding journey."

  • Feeding Support

Breastfeeding Support: I will observe a feeding session and offer suggestions on how to adjust your body, bottle, or baby for a more effective experience. I’ll teach you the fundamentals of breastfeeding, help you understand typical feeding patterns, and guide you in recognizing whether your baby is getting enough milk.

Pumping: I can assist you with setting up and using a breast pump, provide advice on proper milk storage, and help you create a pumping and bottle-feeding routine, including a plan for returning to work.
